About Joan Shulman

As Co-Founder and President of A Hire Calling, LLC, Joan's hallmark is to deliver customized, personal and cost-effective client service.

Joan's career coaching clients benefit from her personal attention and accessibility. Her background as a former teacher and college counselor, coupled with her experience in both the for-profit and non-profit work environments, provides job seekers with a supportive and effective methodology for finding and landing the right opportunities.

Prior to founding A Hire Calling, LLC, Joan was a teacher in the Newton, Massachusetts Public School System; a Cooperative Education Counselor at Northeastern University, where she taught a course in Self Assessment and Career Exploration; the Director of the Women's Re-Entry Career Program; and the founder of the Placement Network, a placement agency for support staff. Throughout her career, Joan has maintained a private practice in career coaching and resume writing for clients in career transition.
